Lohan Defends Harvey Weinstein: ‘I Feel Very Bad for Him – Everyone Needs to Stop’

Lindsay Lohan took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to defend embattled producer Harvey Weinstein, who is accused sexually assaulting and harassing several women over the past few decades.

“I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now,” she said in the Instagram story, taken from her home in Dubai. “I don’t think it’s right what’s going on.”

Lohan also said that Weinstein’s wife, Georgina Chapman, who intends on filing for divorce, needs to “take a stand and be there for her husband.”

She later deleted the bizarre messages.

Weinstein, who was the subject of a second bombshell report on Tuesday, is reportedly on his way to Europe for treatment after being accused of harassing several actresses, including Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Lohan added of Weinstein: “He’s never harmed me or did anything to me – we’ve done several movies together.I think everyone needs to stop – I think it’s wrong. So stand up.”

Lohan’s Parents Want Her To Sue Senator John Kennedy Over “Slanderous Comments” During Equifax Hearing

Lindsay Lohan’s parents, Michael Lohan and Dina Lohan, want her to sue Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana for making “slanderous comments” about their daughter during a congressional hearing on Wednesday. The politician referenced the actress’s struggles with addiction during a panel on the Equifax data breach, and her dad exclusively tells Gossip Cop the remark was “inappropriate, slanderous and unwarranted.” (See update below.)

More than 145 million people had their sensitive personal information released after credit reporting company Equifax was hacked last month. On Wednesday, a Senate panel grilled former Equifax CEO Richard Smith over signing a $7.25 million IRS contract for identity verification services following the massive breach. By making the deal, the company could potentially profit from the hack.

“Why in the world should you get a no-bid contract right now?” Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska asked Smith at a Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee hearing. Kennedy added, “You realize to many Americans right now, that looks like we’re giving Lindsay Lohan the keys to the mini-bar.” Smith paused for a moment before responding, “I understand your point.” Of course, the actress has been open about her past struggles with drugs and alcohol, as well as seeking treatment for her addictions.

Michael Lohan has now released an exclusive statement to Gossip Cop about his plans to file a lawsuit against Kennedy.

“Dina and I are seeking legal counsel for Lindsay regarding the slanderous comments and unprofessional behavior of Senator John Kennedy (R-La.),” he says. “His comment and analogy was inappropriate, slanderous and unwarranted. How dare he associate Lindsay with this case? Tell me, does he have a family member or friend with a former addiction problem? Wow, and he’s a senator?”

Gossip Cop will update as this story continues to develop.

UPDATE: Michael is clarifying his initial comments to Gossip Cop, stressing that he and Dina will not be plaintiffs in a lawsuit but are urging their daughter to take legal action. The patriarch tells us, “While Dina and I realize we can’t sue Senator Kennedy for his bullying statements, Lindsay can. I advised her to seek counsel through a friend who is a well-known federal attorney in New Orleans.” He adds, “This has got to stop. Lindsay has turned her life around and does wonderful humanitarian work.” For her part, Lindsay tweeted a photo of herself with a bottle of water, writing, “This is the only thing I keep in my mini bar these days – glad I found lawyer.com. They are helping me out.”

Lohan Senator’s Snarky Drunk Dig Will Trigger Lawsuit

Michael and Dina Lohan plan to sue a U.S. senator who conjured up Lindsay’s drunken past to lash out at a CEO.

The incident went down at a congressional hearing Wednesday as the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee grilled former Equifax CEO Richard Smith about the credit reporting firm’s recent massive hacking.

One of the committee members asked, “Why in the world should you get a no-bid contract right now?” … which was followed up by Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana, “You realize to many Americans right now, that looks like we’re giving Lindsay Lohan the keys to the mini-bar.”

As we’ve reported, Lindsay’s struggled with drugs and alcoholism and has been open about it, and has changed for the better.

But her parents are FURIOUS and tell Gossip Cop they plan to sue Kennedy. Michael told the outlet, “His comment and analogy was inappropriate, slanderous and unwarranted. How dare he associate Lindsay with this case? Tell me, does he have a family member or friend with a former addiction problem?”

We’ve reached out to Senator Kennedy’s office, so far no word back.

BTW … just our opinion, but Dina and Michael don’t have legal standing to sue … it’s all Lindsay, and so far she’s been radio silent.
